This oddly satisfying work is quietly protecting more and more Americans. It starts with removing bricks to create an opening. Before digging, they carefully break through a tough concrete layer—without damaging anything beyond the target area. Then, using a post hole digger, they create a deep, narrow hole. It needs to be at least 20 inches deep—sometimes even more in tough soil—to guarantee stability. Once the depth is right, they add gravel for drainage and a solid base. The post is set and leveled with precision. Finally, they pour in the concrete to lock everything in place.
With that final step, it’s built to last.
