Digging Holes with a Tractor-Mounted Auger – Good gear makes work a whole lot faster
The video shows a tractor equipped with a post-hole digger digging a hole in the field. The process involves attaching the post-hole digger to the tractor’s power take-off (PTO) and three-point hitch. The digger consists of a rotating vertical metal rod with blades at the lower end that cut or scrape the soil. To operate, the tractor is positioned at the desired location for the hole, and the PTO is engaged, causing the auger to rotate and bore into the ground. The depth of the hole is controlled by the operator, and the process continues until the desired depth is reached. This method is commonly used for setting fences and signposts, or planting saplings.
